Glass Railings – Wooden Cap Rails

In a collaboration with Elias Elias Architecture, a residential home in Aventura, Florida received new a glass railing design for their existing staircase featuring wooden cap rails!

For this residential staircase, we installed a new glass panel railing design which features wooden cap rails. As you ascend up the staircase, the glass railings continue along the second floor guardrail and overlook. The glass panels were anchored by using a top mounted aluminum base shoe, which was then covered with drywall. Wooden cap rails were top mounted to all of the glass panels for added rigidity. The wooden cap rails were stained to match the surrounding wood floors, a nice touch to the overall aesthetic.
